> lived at king and spadina in a warehouse.

I worked at king and spadina for a few years (across from Niagara autobody, down a few doors from the taxi place). I lived in Kensington when I was at school. I don't know about far out but I've traveled as far as etobicoke. Now I'm near Dundas and Runnymede - a little west of high park.

Ohhhh, so YOU'RE the one. LOL, I mean, dundas has a lot of bridges ;-)

> a doughnation

It came though okay, thanks. Much appreciated and will be put to good use.

hi phineus,
i'm glad the donation got to you ok, i am more than happy to help out!
i remember niagara autobody and the taxi place are they still there?
i actually lived in a warehouse at king and dufferin.
the house i lived lived in at king and spadina, was on clarence square, across from the little park there, it was quite creepy,
alot of people who stayed there had said they thought it was haunted.(it was very old,it was first a military barraks, and then a rooming house then a buisness and then my wifes parents bought it and turned it into a bed and breakfast.)
it was a beautiful old place.

i was devastated to hear about the fire on queen west, suspect video, dukes cycle, and more reduced to rubble. Crying or Very sad
being a courier,i know them at dukes very well, family owned since the early 1900s.i really feel for them.

from what i have heard nobody was injured.

if you happen to go by, there was an antique store beside the big bop night club, i would be happy to know it wasnt affected.

anyways,very sad.

scout.

To everybody, the first obvious benefit of the donation button was the smooth transition to the new server and getting our domain name back. The first tangible return should be ready tonight or early tomorrow. ...with more to follow.

A couple new Vic and Sade things on the menu. And I'd like to thank everybody who has pitched in to help make this possible.

First up is an AFRS Transcription record. I got a tip on an ebay listing and it went pretty much uncontested, so a big thanks all around on this one. I had no idea AFRS covered Vic and Sade, but glad they did because it fills a hole in the 1946 schedule. The record was not in the greatest condition but it was playable, there is no loss to the program itself and the sound isn't as bad as it might have been. This was a good snag, and just the way we need to work in order to bring new, unheard shows to light. This is an otrplus exclusive. Well done.

Next is the 1955 NBC video. Flynn as Sade, Gillilan again as Rush, but with Bill Green as Vic. It has a full living room set and includes exterior entrance to the small house half-way up in the next block. The title is not exactly on point but it's what NBC called it. It's more about a fishing trip than phone calls. This comes courtesy of museum.tv

And finally is a University dramatization - found on youtube by louie johnson who frequents the V&S phorum. Very different from what we're used to but pretty well done none the less. Lotta fun, so definitely worth checking out.

If you're not a youtuber or dislike flash as much as most, then you can scrounge around here for a web converted mpeg. I'd give the flv files but couldn't grab the first part cleanly.

PS. Sorry, haven't heard from Bert.

PPS. Net transport is a first rate program ;-)

Wow Phineus, thanks for the clue about searching MBC Archives video collection. I had already raided their radio collection but had not thought about the video side of the equation. The new Vic and Sadie AFRS is a great find so thanks every so much for all the work and money you invested in the project.

Just found this through the "upgrade" post; thank you so much, Phineus!

I happened to see the youtube video a few days ago by chance. A pretty nice job on the voices; and I love the way they had Rush reciting underneath Vic & Sade's conversation; very true to form.

Hi Phineus.I can honestly say I've never listened to an episode of Vic and Sade (I've got too many Horror & Sci-Fi stories and plays to listen to).But I've just made a donation because I love this site so much, and I hope it continues for many years to come.Keep up the good work.Duckman.
